Obituary of Sonya Karlene Stone

On April 21, 1980 to a precious baby girl was born to Dianna and Seddie Stone at Southside Hospital in Bayshore, New York. Sonya grew in stature and years then became God fearing, friendly, loving, caring and hard-working. Sonya attended Bethel AME Church (from childhood) throughout her lifetime and was a devoted Christian. After graduating from Amityville Memorial High School she continued her education at Farmingdale College and Wilson Technical Center where she completed her training as a nursing assistant. Sonya then worked at Broadlawn Manor Nursing Home for over eight years. In the summer of 2016, Sonya was diagnosed with renal failure, and she fought this disease with the spirit and strength God gave her, but other complications developed. Her long illness strengthen her faith in the Lord. On July 15, 2020 Sonya breathe her last breath and slipped into a peaceful rest. Sonya will always be remembered by her devoted parents Seddie and Dianna Stone, three siblings: Brigette, Coleigne, Seddie 2nd and their families; Bethel AME church family, along with many many relatives and friends. Sonya will be sadly missed by her nephews and nieces: Jairel (Solomon), Jaein (Solomon ), Seddie (Stone 3rd), Cayla (Solomon), Synia (Stone), aunts and uncles, along with a host of other relatives.
