Obituary of Sylvester Blake

Sylvester Blake Jr. "Sly" was born June 15, 1993 to Sylvester Blake Sr. and the late Cynthia Jones-Blake. Sylvester was one of the most intelligent, funny, family oriented young man that everyone loved. He may have been young in age but definitely had a good old soul. Sylvester was a pleasure to be around and could put an instant smile on your face, had loads of personality that touched the lives of many. If you ever held a conversation with Sly about any giving topic, he would at times leave you speechless and doing a bit of research. Even though Sylvester was almost the youngest of the clan, at times he demonstrated big brotherly love when it came to his sisters. Sylvester did not let his disability get in the way of his achievements. The way he maneuvers around and the things he knew would leave you wondering. Everyone that knew Sylvester knew of some of his favorites such as wrestling, football, play station, and music artist such as "The Lox" and "R. Kelly" just to name a few. Sylvester also had a strong love for school. Sylvester began school as early as 1 years old and all thru his schooling he loved and was loved by all the faculty/ staff and students. Sylvesters' favorite subject in school was History. He often came home with amusing stories. He was very fond of teachers like Mr. Adam Docar who was Sly's home room teacher for the last 5 years. Ms. Kerry Degnan who was his Physical Therapist for the last 8 years and was by his side when he was hospitalized. And Ms. Linda Cianna who was his aide and worked with Sly for the last 12 years. Sylvester graduated on June 27, 2014 from BOCES Manor Plains High School and on June 28, 2014 from the Wyandanch School District. Sylvester parted us on September 16, 2014 to enter the heavenly gates to be joined with and taken care of by his mothers Beryl Ross, Cynthia Jones-Blake, and one of his favorite aunts Hyacinthe Fuller.
