Obituary of Geneva Simon

On Friday October 3, 2014 our Heavenly Father dispatched His angel to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital to escort His loving daughter, Geneva Simon home to rest. Geneva Green was born April 16, 1952 to the Reverend Ransom Green and the late Abbie (Taylor) Green in Brooklyn New York. As a child she loved to cook and garden with her mother. Planting mint tea was her favorite. She was also on the track team. From her marriage on July 18, 1972 to Clive Simon four children were born: Marjorie, Kaianasa, Jasmine and Kintu. Throughout her adult life Geneva dedicated her time to raising her family, devoting her latest working life to helping teachers and caring for students at Brookhaven Elementary School. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, from Suffolk Community College, which she was very proud of. Geneva Simon united with Open Door Church in Bellport New York. Her dedication to her church over many years on the usher board, as a Sunday School teacher, on the choir and as part of the executive board was her joyous service to the Lord. Her love for the Lord led her to share God's Word with neighbors, friends, family and stranger alike. Testifying to God's faithfulness was her gift to bring hope to others. She was an inspiration to her family, church, co-workers, students, neighbors and even strangers. Her giving, loving nature to family and friends will be missed, as well as her devotion to sharing God's Word. On this most auspicious day, it can be said without hesitation that she has served well. Geneva Simon was preceded in death by her loving mother Abbie Green and her youngest brother Stephen Green, and leaves behind to cherish her memory: her beloved father Ransom Green, daughters, Marjorie Simon-Meinefeld, Kaianasa Simon, Jasmine Simon, son Kintu Simon, and her five grandchildren Jada Greene, Savanah Simon, Sonia Simon, Alejandra Riley, and John-Adrian Johnson (who were the loves of her life), her beloved brothers Bobby Green, Gary Green, Bruce Green, Wendell Green, Matthew Green, and devoted sister Aceila Green-Stone, sisters-in law, Jacqueline Green, Melody Green, and Pamela Vance, brother-in-law Robert Stone, son-in-law Marcus Meinefeld, sister-in- Christ Dorothy Jackson, and a host of closely knit cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, self-adopted children, family and friends. We are all enriched because she lived. Lovingly Submitted By The Family!
