Obituary of Evelyn S. Jones

Evelyn S. Jones was born on April 28, 1921 in Lakewood, New Jersey to the union of the late Julius and Esther Glover. She was the third child of four. In 1935 Evelyn moved to Harlem, New York. In 1956 she went on to marry Donald Bradley from this union they gave birth to their only child Donna Johnson and later preceded her in death. Evelyn than went on to marry Samuel Jones who preceded her in death. She attended school in Lakewood, New Jersey. Evelyn dedicated years as a nanny to the Miles family and in her spare time she loved to sew and bake cakes. She was famous for her carrot and cheesecakes. Which she refused to give up her secret recipe for years. She had a big appetite for Ice Cream. Evelyn had a passion for putting together puzzles, playing board games, such as Othello, back gammon which was difficult to beat her in, card games like solitaire, skip-bo, and when she took time away from home she would travel to places such as Barbados, her favorite place was Atlantic City. Evelyn leaves to mourn: Five granddaughters, Denise, Donna, Natalie, Natasha and Nanette; fifteen grandchildren and a host of great-great grands, nieces, nephews and friends.
