Obituary of Lula Mae Lowry
Lula Mae Lowry was born July 28, 1937 to Clinton Mae Morgan and Laddie Page. She was born and raised in Harlem, NY. She graduated from the New York Public School system in 1955. She went on to attend the Harlem branch of the School of Practical Nursing. She received her degree in practical nursing on December 31, 1956.
Lula enjoyed a 32 year career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked in both hospital settings and as a private duty nurse. She retired from nursing in 1988. Lula married her childhood boyfriend Robert W. Lowry on June 6, 1959. They were married 28 years until Robert passed away of natural causes in January 1988. Lula never re-married.
Lula and Robert had five children from their union: Robert Lowry Jr., Michael
Lowry, Phillip Lowry, Roger Lowry, and Clifford Lowry. Lula was devoted to her family. She regularly sacrificed her needs for those of
her children, grandchildren, and close friends. She was motivated by the sincere
loving desire to please God and to serve her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her five sons - Robert Lowry Jr., Michael
Lowry, Phillip Lowry, Roger Lowry, and Clifford Lowry; her thirteen grand
children - Janetta Shontay Lowry, Latoya Lowry, Robert Lowry, Alicia Caparoula,
Ebony Lowry, Sherice Lowry, Brenda Morrison, Nicholas Lowry, Shaun Lowry,
Danielle Lowry, Chanel Lowry, Elijah Lowry, and Kiana Lowry; her beloved
cousins - Laurena Smith, Carolyn Williams, and Burton Smith; daughter in laws -
Janetta Lowry, Martine Leonard-Lowry, Paulette Lowry, April Calhoun-Lowry,
Sophia Lowry, Trudie Williams, and Kim Alexander; several great grandchildren, and many dear friends.
