Obituary of Jeanette E Terry

Jeannette Elizabeth Terry better known to us as Mom was born on January 10, 1933 in New York, NY. slipped away after a lengthy illness surrounded by family at home on April 16, 2016. Jeannette was the 1st of 6 children born to the late Ede and Mary Moses . Jeannette attended the New York Cit School System and graduated from Long Island City High School. On Jul 3, 1952 "Mom" married to the late Theodore Lambert Terry Sr. and started a family . Some time after they bought a house and settled in Amitville, NY. Mom had a long desire to become a nurse although she was raising five children she was determined to succeed. At the early age of 12, she became a care giver when she lost her mother. "Mom" was a strong, loving and caring individual. She never turned her back on anyone in need. Her passion for helping others not only showed in her profession as a nurse but showed in her everyday life. Mom not only nurtured her children she would also nurture her children's friend and whoever came to her in need. Everyone who met her would call her "Mom" because she was just that. A person who you knew would be there if you needed her. Sometimes you may not have wanted her to hear what she had to say. You knew what she had to say was something you needed to hear. Mom was a fighter and not a complainer although she was fighting an illness she never lost her loving spirit. You could go in the room and say good morning mom, "how are you feeling today and she would a "I woke up this morning." She was and will always be a remarkable person, a true blessing and God sent her to us because we needed her and He called her home because He needed her now. We loved her and she loved us unconditonally , but God loved her best.
