Obituary of Pastor Willie R. Jones

Pastor Willie Jones Sr. was born October 9, 1932, and raised in Jackson, North Carolina. Willie grew up and attended Northampton County schools and began working as a dairy clerk. He met the love of his life Virginia Boone (deceased), and they were married on April 11, 1955. From this union they raised 13 children.
They began their union in Amityville, NY before settling in Gordon Heights, NY. Pastor Jones worked as a truck driver for All-Island Delivery Service. He received his calling to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ in 1974 accompanied by his wife Virginia. He attended the Long Island Bible Institute and received his license at Faith Baptist Church. On February 7, 1975, he founded Christ Baptist Church. He developed pastoral relationships nationally and became a member of the Eastern Baptist Association. He was a proud member of Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship and proudly served as overseer for his region. Pastor Willie R. Jones, Sr. served God and the Christ Baptist Family for over forty-six years.
He was predeceased by his wife Virginia (Boone) Jones, his parents Emmitt Clark & Alice Buffaloe Jones, his brothers, James (Viola), Wiley Parker (Queen), Manford Thomas (Rousmaniere), Charlie Norman (Louise) and sisters Clara (Richard), Mary Alice, Ella (Edward) and his son Michael.
Pastor Jones is survived by his children: Alma (John), Sheila (James, II) Sherita, Keith, Derrick (Pamela), Anya (Sheinata), Willie Jr. (Gail), Richard, Eric (Irene), Terrence, Desiree, and Jason. 18 Grand Children, 4 Great Grand Children and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family members at Christ Baptist Church.
