Obituary of Tyrone Mitchell
Tyrone (T Bone) Mitchell (59) was called home on October 2, 2021. He was born on February 13, 1962 at Lakeside Hospital in Copiague, NY to William Henry Mitchell & the late Audrey Mae James. He grew up with a competitive spirit inside of him to give his best in various sports and practicing martial arts. He spent his professional time working for the Long Island Railroad and Brunswick Hospital Center. His favorite pastime was cooking as he was known for making his famous signature dish Gumbo. He spent time perfecting his craft in different Italian restaurants and he loved to feed his family & friends. He was a beloved resident of Amityville, NY for all his life.
Tyrone remained a strong presence in his community and was loved by all that knew him. He was a competitive chess player and he loved to relax at home playing his X-Box. He brought life to the party while having good time enjoying life with family & friends. Tyrone spent the last 15 years with his loving companion Juanita (Demetrius) Petro enjoying his last days with love & laughter.
Tyrone was predeceased by mother Audrey Mae James; Brothers Savannah (Junior) Winfield, David James; Sister Chandra (Mitchell) Hudson. He leaves to cherish his memory with his brothers Willie Winfield, William Gardner and Anthony Mitchell; Special mention to niece Vanetta Hudson & nephew James (Maurice) Hudson to whom were brought up as his siblings; Daughter Nichole Mitchell, his sons: Tyrone Hunter, Vincent Mitchell, William Mitchell & stepdaughter Bryanna Daley & stepson Darell (DJ) Daley; Grandsons: Cameron Mitchell, Damien Mitchell, Tysen Hunter; Granddaughters: Angel Mitchell, Serenity Mitchell; & the host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
